The Best Of The Flea Market In Five Simple Words.

Yet again ZaPalooza took place in Pune. It was Pune’s eight edition of Kingfisher BUZZ – ZaPalooza. It was a 2 day event.

It rightly stands for a crazy party with loads of people and tons of fun! Those who have experienced the craziness, must know that they stand true to their word. For the ones who don’t know, here’s a glimpse of what happened at ZaPalooza.

Over 100 pop up stalls that featured some of the most creative people, products and designs not only from Pune but all over the country. This fest was not only for families but also for pets. It had all the right ingredients to make a cracker of an event.

Over 30 of the best upcoming designer brands; such as Playing with your Eyelashes,Studio Hotch potch,Sisters Closet,Kalashka,TaamJhaam,Charpie,Uptown High,Doro,Paperiva,Fetish,Arctizia featured and showcased their latest coutoure.

Bejeweled with Swarovski Crystals and made with SWAROVSKI elements. This is a newbie in town. I fell in love with the entire collection.

PAPERIVA – Aurangabad

These guys are just amazing. I halted at their stall and it reminded me of my childhood days. Colourful Dream Catcher Wall Hangings,Keychains,Barefoot Jewellery,Floral Tiara and what not. I also brought home 2 beautiful keychains. Their products are also available on Flipkart and Amazon. Just use the name Paperiva and you are good to go. Happy shopping. Must must must buy from their fabulous collection.

This time there were amazing art installations by a very famous Bollywood art director and a few more building artists. Quirky brands from across India, including SnugOns,Paper Tells Crafted Affairs (USA),GlasGlow,Ora Skon Secrets,Purple,Teal Trunk,Pop Art Factory,Pranoti Chitnis,Creative Box,BANG Shoes (Bengaluru),Chakli (Ahmedabad),Quirk Smith (Bengaluru),Satee (Bhopal) and many others featured at the festival.

Music is the true food for the soul, the flea market had a line up of 15 amazing rock bands, including Ramil Ganjoo,Ronny’s Music Academy,Halanth,Bankim Patel (mentored by Sajid Wajid),Samruddhi Ramanand (14 year old),The Mad Hatters,AuRa and Scriptures in the Attic. The headlining band for day one (which i attended) were RdX (A tribute band to the great RD Burman) and day 2 were Neele Noorani (one of the best upcoming Sufi bands in the country)

The line up included doodling and creative expression by VANS,Potter (From Bengaluru) and Workshop on block printing and paper craft.

Almost 20 food stalls featured at the fest which included Bubsterrs,Picantos,Ganache,Coffee & me,Happiness Ice Cream,Maddy’s Pasta Bar,Home Baked,Trinitas,Burgertronz which made the festival complete.

HOME BAKED – Lonavala

Home baked are all set to make it big in the market as they are planning to launch their cafe really soon. While hunting for desserts I spotted this cute little stall and had a good look at the menu and the items displayed on the counter. They also had a few samples which they offered to everyone who visited the stall. I tried their chocolate golgappas, crunchy biscuits which were made from baajra (healthy option for fitness freaks) and cream puffs.

I finally ordered for their Salty Caramel Puff and Peppy Lemon Puff. Both were puff pastries filled with loads of cream and topped with glazed dry fruits.

And they also gave me a complimentary box of  Nutella Samosas with Mint. Now isn’t this a really sweet gesture?

Bite size samosas filled with Nutella and a mild flavor of mint is an absolute delight and blast of flavors in your mouth.

MADDY’S PASTA BAR – Viman Nagar and Kothrud

Maddy’s needs no introduction. After an amazing response in Kothrud, they started their second outlet at Viman Nagar in full swing. They serve pastas with a Desi Touch to it. They offer two different portion sizes,i.e. mini and regular. The idea behind having two portion sizes is that people who don’t want to have the entire meal and just wish to have a quick bite, they can go for it and that too without spending alot. This is a must visit place if you are a fan of pastas and pizzas.

PICANTOS- Aundh and Magarpatta

This was my very first time that i had something from Picantos and it wasn’t disappointing at all. I had ordered Chicken Nachos and Churros with chocolate sauce. Both were good. Chicken Nachos loaded with mayonnaise, sauce and lots of chicken was delish. The churros with chocolate sauce were a bit too sweet for my liking . I’d recommend this place.

These guys are basically home cooks who had featured at the fest. I had their Cookies with cheese and chocolate sauce. Warm cookies with grated cheese on top and chocolate sauce was something very new but every element complimented each other perfectly.

BUBSTERRS -Kalyani Nagar

They serve pizza by slice. 10 inch pizza slice with different options to choose from. I had ordered a Chicken BBQ Pizza. It’s a huge slice and is quite filling. Pizza slice topped with Chicken infused in BBQ sauce and loaded with lots of cheese. Can’t wait to try the other items. #Recommended

Overall i had a great time and had a ball at the fest with amazing food, music, art, workshops and fashion. Looking forward to the next edition.
